John's photo philosophy applies to any camera from DSLR to Smart Phone. Beyond Nature is my favorite talk. It's designed to get photographers of all levels to take their photography Beyond Nature, to a kind of travel photography.
First, to step back and include more foreground. Effectively manage this larger area using basic compositional tools like framing, lines and icons to create a more powerful composition. Ultimately creating a "stage" for moving objects to pass through. These moving subjects can be boats, cyclists and your fellow travel companions. You'll see.
