Experiment! Photos like this are pretty easy.
The overall scene was lit by a rising full moon, John and Beth camping, Loveland Pass, Loveland Pass camping trip, campfire, camping, camping trip, dome tent, full moon, night lights, tent, which lasted just a few minutes due to cloud cover. A headlamp lit the tent. Our "campfire" was a candle surrounded by aluminum foil. I used a tripod and a 7 second exposure. Photoshop was only used to lighten certain areas.
