Stage Technique & Photoshop.
I planned beforehand, then got a little help from Photoshop. I took 5-6 photos using the exact same lens focal length, exposure and composition. Basically, the same photo, just different skiers and snowboarders walking by. Afterwards, it's easy to use Photoshop's 'cloning' tool and place my subjects just where I want them.
